Why do
I jump? I love the feeling!
I was
born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska so
I’ve always had a natural attraction to
snow. While in high school I saw aerials
for the first time during the 2002 Olympics.
With 14 years of gymnastics experience,
I thought that aerials would be a blast.
Once I graduated from high school, my
family moved to Spokane, Washington and I
attended my first semester of college at
Washington State University. While I was
there, I realized that I had other
dreams that I wanted to pursue as well
as going to school, so I started working
towards a way to do both.
I found an aerials camp
in Lake Placid, New York though internet
research. It was time to give my aerials
dream a shot. At the camp, I learned
what freestyle aerials is like and began
jumping. Being in the east was
great but I didn’t like the distance
between me and my family, so I moved to
Utah. I have been training at the
Olympic Park since 2004.
Since I’ve been in Utah I have
progressed quickly in aerials. I have
also been able to pursue other interests
like stunt work while still being able
to continue my studies. I stay very
busy trying to balance my time between
jobs, school, and training. I’ve been
working very hard and just recently achieved my goal of making the US
Ski Team! I am very excited to begin
training with the team and can’t wait to
see what this summer has in store for
me!
